In the thirty-three greater towns of England and Wales with an estimated population of 11,404,408, for the week ending October 28th, the death-rato was 21.1. Deaths reported 4,623: acute diseases of the respiratory organs (London) 478, diphtlioria 130, measles 98, fever 93, diarrhea 811, whooping-cough 37, scarlet fever 36, small-pox (Hull) 4. The death-rates ranged from 10.1 in Cardiff to 29.7 in Bristol :
