Recent sampling carried out in the Aegean with the use of a mid-water trawl, yielded 12 species of pelagic shrimps, 6 of which (Acanthephyra eximia, A. pelagica, Pasiphaea multidentata,Sergestes arcticus, S. atlanticus, and S. sargassi) are reported for the rst time from the Aegean. For all the above species as well as for 6 other so far known from the Mediterranean, information is given on their distribution in certain geographical areas of the Mediterranean and the adjacent oceans.
