This work is a review of the scientific literature related to the applications of Remotely Operated Vehicles (ROVs) in the Oil and Gas Industry to allow mechanics and robotic engineers, and other interested parties, to know the scope of some of the current various types of ROVs in the industry, and some of the current challenges faced.
