In this study, different DNA extraction methods were evaluated from mane samples obtained from a population of wild horses from the Region of Arauca in eastern Colombia.Three DNA extraction methods were evaluated (phenol chloroform, alkaline lysis and twocommercial DNA extraction kit), DNA concentration, purity and qualityweredeterminate and PCR amplification product were obtain using primers for a hypervariable region of DNA mitochondrial.
