Early in 2008 Total through a regional operating company, Total Exploration Production Congo (TEPC), placed an operational survey contract with a vendor for the purposes of evaluating inertial technology, as applied to the offshore metrology survey application. This contract required the vendor to supply both conventional metrology survey services as well as inertial metrology survey services.
