Preparation and characterization of multiwall carbon nanotubes decorated with zinc oxide

Multiwall carbon nanotubes MWCNTs were synthesized then decorated with ZnO. The decorated ZnO was grown on the surface of MWCNTs via simple wet chemical route. The prepared MWCNTs/ZnO composite was characterized by X-ray diffraction, EDS, HRTEM, FTIR as well as thermal analysis. Zinc oxide with about 30 nm as confirmed by HRTEM and XRD could be described as wurtzite hexagonal crystalline structure.
