This paper demonstrates, using specific examples, how fiber architecture modeling, using numerical and analytical tools such as pcGINA and TEXCAD, can be used to engineer the fiber architecture of woven fabrics and optimize the design of aircraft engine components made of Ceramic Matrix Composites (CMC) and Polymer Matrix Composites (PMC).
