1989 Education for Information  
It is expected that there will be four exchange visits each year, two from ECHE to ISTIC and two from ISTIC to ECHE. The British Council is funding the bulk of the British expenditure on this link. British Council Academic Links with China are set up for the purpose of facilitating academic cooperation and staff exchanges between degree-awarding institutions in Britain and China. more » ... formation users; three-week intensive courses on these topics will be delivered in Beijing by ECHE staff. Lecturers from ISTIC will come to ECHE for two months. Some will be information studies teachers, others English Language teaching staff. They will audit appropriate courses, engage in discussion with colleagues, and possibly also deliver occasional lectures or seminars on such topics as bibliographic control in China, the problems of acquisition in a developing country, etc.
