Catalysts preparation Nickel catalysts were prepared by impregnation method with a metal loading of 15wt%. The support oxides, MgO, CeO 2 , and ZrO 2 , were prepared by calcination of the corresponding nitrates at 923 K for 2 h. Commercial γ-Al 2 O 3 (particles, 20~40 mesh) was also pretreated in static air at 923 K for 2 h before use. The impregnation was conducted at ambient temperature with an excess of ethanol solution of nickel nitrate for the oxides. After impregnation, the catalysts were
