Compared the response of the plant Solanum tuberosum L. mid-varieties Nakra to chloride salinity which depending on lighting conditions. Regenerated plants were produced in vitro from apical meristem and grown on half-strength Murashige and Skoog medium using a hydroponic unit in controlled-climate conditions. At the age of six weeks, the plants were exposed to salt stress (125 mM NaCl, 7 days); at the same time, plants were grown on white light with red or blue light. Plant response to salt

Potato plant tolerance to chloride salinity rose after short-term exposure to blue light, which has been first shown in this study. The protective effect of blue light was based on its ability to stimulate the accumulation of low-molecular weight organic compounds with antioxidant activity.
