The article discusses various approaches to understanding what is called a financial or banking marketplace. The author provides his definition of this concept. The study examined the existing and possible issues associated with the implementation of the «Marketplace» project initiated by the Bank of Russia, that would help overcome the digital inequality and develop a competitive environment in the financial sector.
