Results: Systemic arterial blood pressure significantly decreased after exsanguination and elevated after infusion. In the HbV, lowP 50 -HbV as well as rat-RBC groups, all the rats were liberated from mechanical ventilation and the blood pressure was stabilized, although all the rats of the saline group and 30% of the albumin group died within 1 hour after extubation.
