Bilateral Idiopathic Granulomatous Mastitis: A Case Report

Idiopathic granulomatous mastitis is a rare, chronic inflammatory disease of the breast that frequently occurs in young women of childbearing age. The lesion usually presents as a unilateral firm breast mass with signs of inflammation but bilateral involvement has been reported. more » ... diagnosis. The etiology and ideal treatment remain unclear. Conservative treatment with immunosuppressive therapy has proven good efficacy. In this case report, we present a patient diagnosed with bilateral idiopathic granulomatous mastitis. We review and discuss the clinical presentation, imaging, diagnosis and management of this patient that eventually responds well to steroid therapy.
