Umm Al Houl, Katar: Archäologische Rettungsmaßnahmen in einer bedrohten Siedlung des 19. Jhs. n. Chr
2017
In autumn 2013 rescue documentation at the endangered colonial era settlement of Umm Al Houl (mid-19th to the mid-20th century CE) at the Gulf coast was conducted. It was aimed to document the entire site with its current state of preservation. The archaeological record of the site included documentation by aerial imaging, 3D modelling, survey, soundings and ethnographical research. Conceptualized as a joint Qatari-German project, these rescue works were carried out within two seasons in 2014 and 2015.
