By observing interactions between visually impaired people and 'orientation and mobility specialists', this paper demonstrates that professional trainers orient to recognizing their trainees' state of knowledge and modifying their ways of explanation about the environments in order to make the organization of instruction appropriate for and relevant to the trainees' knowledge of 'here and now'.
