Carbon Content Effects on the Heat Affected Zone Harden Ability of Tungsten Inert Gas Mild Steelwelds

The weldability, strength and microstructural configuration of mild steel welds is determined by the carbon content composition of the weldment. In this study ,the effects of carbon content on the hardness of the heat affected zone of mild steel welds has been investigated. A gas tungsten arc welding process was employed to weld the joints of the mild steel samples, thereafter data on carbon content and hardness was recorded.
