Background. Karamunting leaves (Rhodomyrtus tomentosa (Aiton) Hassk.) is one of many plants which is on research and it has been developing as whitening, anti aging and it is predicted that it has antioxidant potention. The high-dose use of karamunting leaves causes an increase in blood creatinine and ureum level. Methods: This study is true experimental pretest and posttest control group design approach. This study uses 25 rats which divided into 5 groups. Positive control group (KP) is injected intraperitoneally by 80mg/kgBB gentamicin; Negative control group (KN) is given CMC orally; Treatment groups 1, 2, 3 are administered orally by Rhodomyrtus tomentosa (Aiton) Hassk. leaves extract in each dosage is 600mg/kgBW, 1200mg/kgBW, 2400mg/kgBW. All treatments are conducted in 10 days. Blood checking is at the day before treatment, the 8 th day of the treatment and the 11 th day after the treatment. Data are analyzed by One Way ANOVA and repeated ANOVA test. Result. The measurement based on the dose group shows that ureum level and cratinine is significantly increased (p<0,05) on positive control group and 1 st , 2 nd and 3 rd treatment groups. Meanwhile, the measurement based on time shows that ureum level and creatinine is significantly different (p<0,05) on both of control group and all treatment groups. Conclusion. The higher dose of Rhodomyrtus tomentosa (Aiton) Hassk. leaves ethanol extract 70% given, the higher level of ureum and creatinine found on rats.
