The new requirements of the National Science Foundation and the National Institutes of Health that funding proposals need to include a data management plan has resulted in increased interest in data preservation. Many organizations are looking more closely at OAIS and implementation models such as PREMIS as a means of addressing their internal, long-term preservation responsibilities.
