... bulunmuştur ( p< .001, p<.05). ABSTRACT This study was carried out in order to detect reading habit attitudes of preschool teacher candidates. "Relational screening" model was used for the study, which was performed with 389 teacher candidates studying at Trakya University Education Faculty Primary Education Preschool Teaching Department. Participating in the study on a voluntary basis, the teachers were given "General Information Form" designed by the study authors and "Scale for Reading Habit Attitudes of Teacher Candidates" developed by Susar Kırmızı (2012) . Data from scale on attitudes of teacher candidates towards reading habit was analyzed with SPSS-16 program. LSD test was used in order to detect the group that caused any significant difference between mean scores. Variance analysis was used for the scale mean scores according to factors such as reading frequency, daily reading duration, their view on the adequacy of reading duration, increase in amount of time spared for reading compared to pre-university period and the last book purchasing time. The study findings show that attitude of teacher candidates toward reading habit is moderate and this attitude differs significantly according to factors such as reading frequency, daily reading duration, their view on the adequacy of reading duration, increase in amount of time spared for reading compared to preuniversity period ( p< .001, p<.05).
