was stopped by pressure. Temperature 99°. Three drops I , of laudanum were given him. He bad a quiet night, and was rather better next day, although the spasms were still frequent. On the 9Eh one-fortieth of a grain of extract of Calabar bean was injected subcutaneously in the morning, again in the evening, and twice on the 10th. After this the boy seemed much quieter, but he said that his muscles were "so tight." The wound was dressed on the 10th, and there was a most offensive discharge. A slight bleeding occurred on the
