Two papers devoted to the description of rail and water transportation of sick and wounded soldiers during the war of 18G1-C5 are very fully illustrated by plans of hospital cars and steamboats, which, together with the text, enables the reader to form an accurate idea of bow much the medical department of the army contributed toward alleviating the sufferings of sick and wounded soldiers forced to undergo the hardships of the journey from battlefields and camps.
