Objetivo: comparar a aquisição dos marcos do Desenvolvimento Motor Grosso entre as crianças frequentadoras e não frequentadoras de creches e avaliar os fatores associados. Método: Um estudo de coorte sendo acompanhadas 70 crianças a partir de 4 meses. Foi aplicado um questionário aos responsáveis e avaliação do estado nutricional da criança. ABSTRACT Objective: To compare the acquisition of the milestones of gross motor development among children who attend day-care centers and those do not attend and to evaluate the associated factors. Methods: A cohort study being evolved 70 children from 4 months. A questionnaire was applied to those responsible and evaluated the nutritional status of the child. It was used the t Student test and Mann-Whitney test and it was adopted a significance level ≤ 0.05. Results: The time before children reach milestones was higher for children enrolled in daycare. Breastfeeding and household income were associated factors. Conclusion: The time to reach the milestones of gross motor development later was higher for children in daycare. The associated factors that stand out have been breastfeeding and a family income.
