Abstrak-Tulisan ini membahas protokol jaringan pada lapisan transport serta perubahan desain yang ada untuk meningkatkan kualitas transmisi multimedia melalui perangkat orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM). Melalui simulasi, metode yang diajukan terbukti mampu mengurangi packet loss UDP sebesar rata-rata 6,5 %, menekan delay UDP hingga 18-37% serta meningkatkan kualitas video yang diterima berkisar 21,3-184,3%. Abstract-This paper discusses the network protocols at the transport layer as well as changes to existing designs to improve the quality of multimedia transmission via orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM). The quality of video transmission over the air are very susceptible to transmission errors, which cause packet loss. The use of reliable protocols such as transmission control protocol (TCP) is able to reduce the loss, but increases the delay is significant. Therefore, a protocol is needed to reduce the loss without adding delay. This article propose design changes on the network unreliable UDP protocol through retransmission mechanism and cross-layer. Through simulation, the proposed method is proven to reduce UDP packet loss by an average of 6.5%, pressing the UDP delay of up to 18-37% as well as improve the quality of video received ranged from 21.3 to 184.3%.
