The paper addresses the issue of the worst-case performance evaluation of the predictive p-CSMA scheme used as the MAC protocol in LonWorks/EIA-709 networked control systems. The performance of the predictive p-CSMA significantly depends on the specification of the traffic scenario since it determines the efficiency of load prediction built in the protocol.
