BACKGROUND Epidural analgesia provides superior analgesia, stable haemodynamics, decreased respiratory system complications, earlier extubation, and superior left ventricular function. When opioids are used as adjuvants to local anesthetics, they act synergistically, resulting in superior and prolonged analgesia.
