We illustrate how unsteady pipeline flows can be analyzed numerically. In particular, we propose a new method to capture the interface between a liquid flow and a two-phase flow of liquid-vapor. We show that the wave speed of the two-phase flow is one of the factors in analysis of its temporal rate of change. We also introduce a numerical result, and examine its correspondence with an experimental result.
