MULTIPLE MOBILE ANCHORS BASED LOCALIZATION USING PARTICLE SWARM OPTIMIZATION (PSO) FOR WIRELESS SENSOR NETWORKS

In Wireless Sensor Network (WSN), though several works have been done on localization using mobile anchors, they cause huge delay in localization of the network since the mobile anchor has to cover the entire network. It will be difficult to provide maximum coverage to the entire network, without considering the visiting schedule of the mobile anchor node. more » ... ine the trajectory of the mobile anchor nodes which is based upon the node density and the distance between the nodes in the network. The mobile anchor nodes broadcast packets to the visited sensor nodes depending on the PSO visiting schedule. The non-localized nodes on receiving the packets, calculate the estimated distance between each of the mobile anchors and using trilateration method, they are localized. From the simulation results, it is proved that localization delay and energy consumption are reduced with increased packet delivery ratio, when compared to the existing approach.
