Liquid crystalline ureas were synthesized and characterized. Their thermotropic behaviors were identified by polarizing optical microscopy (POM), differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), powder X-ray diffraction (XRD). The compounds exhibited a rectangular and hexagonal columnar phases.
