The current study aimed at investigating the contemporary trends in functioning the scientific productivity of the university faculty members in the field of knowledge economy. The descriptive method was utilized to attain the study objectives. The most prominent results attained revealed that there are many contemporary trends in utilizing the scientific productivity of the university faculty members in the field of knowledge economy such as: the orientation toward partnership between
more » ... ies, production and service institutions, planned change in research objectives and operations, marketing scientific research, knowledge management, human resources and attraction of talents. The study also showed a number of requirements that assist in functioning the scientific productivity of the university faculty members in the field of knowledge economy such as: the dissemination of scientific productivity of the university faculty members via books, reports, articles, conferences, scientific journals of high impact factor, training the university teaching staff to disseminate their research electronically, emphasizing the scientific productivity based on the team work as well as individual work, exchanging scientific productivity among the university teaching staff with different specializations via scientific discussion rings, marketing scientific productivity through the media, constructing scientific productivity in the light of the requirements of the knowledge economy and global orientation and in the light of its effect on achieving the objectives of the community and resolving its problems and encouraging the university faculty members to conduct research with a predefined budget, agreed time and applicable results.
