In a highly reflexive society, in which social relationships are arranged and rearranged constantly, individual and group actions are modified by everyday life. Thus, it is perfectly acceptable that changes in gender relationships also happens. The woman is a key figure in this changing process. When fighting for their rights, women brought to the public sphere themes (sex, love, marriage, family, children, etc.) which were at that point restricted to private live. This contributes to transform intimacy, identity and social relationships between men and women. This paper presents the analysis Anthony Giddens carries out about the effect of modernization in gender relationships.
