Obesity is a condition where a person has accumulated so much body fat that it might have a negative effect on their health. If a person's bodyweight is at least 20% higher than it should be, he or she is considered obese. If your Body Mass Index (BMI) is between 25 and 29.9 you are considered overweight. Objective: The objectives of our study were 1: To study the prevalence of Myocardial Infarction among obese people 2: To study comorbidities of obesity Methodology: Settings: Cardiology Wards of Allied Hospital Faisalabad, Faisalabad Institute of Cardiology, District Health Quarters Faisalabad Duration: From January 2017 to August 2017 Sample size: This research consists of 3 groups of patients, Total of 60 patients were included in this research Sampling technique: Non-probability sampling technique Inclusion criteria: Patients of Myocardial infarction of age ranging from 40-60 years were included in this research Exclusion criteria: Patients below and above the age of 40-60 years were not a part of this research STUDY DESIGN: Descriptive Cross-Sectional study Results: 53% that is 32 out of 60 patients with myocardial infarction were obese with BMI greater than or equal to 25 and waist circumference greater than reference range. 26 out of 60 patients had history of Myocardial infarction in their family.
