Many implementations of computer generated holograms (CGH's) or diffractive optical elements ( DOE's) onto spatial light modulators ( SLM's) have already been considered. In this paper, we first review the various types of SLM's available for DOE's and the implementations of DOE's onto SLM's already reported in the literature.
