Elimination of harmonies in a multilevel converter for HEV applications

One promising technology to interface battery packs in electric and hybrid electric vehicles are multilevel converters. In the work presented here, it is shown how the switching times (angles) in a multilevel inverter can be chosen to achieve a required fundamental voltage and not generate speciÞc higher order harmonics. The method gives a complete solution to the problem in that all possible solutions are found.
