This diploma thesis focused on the further development of a questionnaire for measuring the intrinsic motivation of students. In preliminary work, the scales Effort/Importance as well as Interest/Enjoyment were redesigned after failed translations of the English Intrinsic Motivation Inventory by Deci and Ryan. Focusing on the content, analyses reveal no significant differences between student with or without migrational background. In this work a further step towards a new measuring instrument of the intrinsic motivation of students could be accomplished. Admittedly, a lot of adaptation work has to be done in order to maintain the desired overall factor structure, although the three newly created scales already provide promising results. Accordingly, these three scales are appropriate for measuring motivation.
