SURFACE MORPHOLOGY OF POLYANILINE THIN FILMS PREPARED BY RF PLASMA POLYMERIZATION

Plasma polymerization is used to make ultra thin and pinhole free films. The films produced by this method are insoluble, chemically inert and thermally stable. Presently plasma polymerization of Aniline was carried out using Radio Frequency glow discharge at the pressure of 0.1 Torr. The thin films of aniline were formed on Polythene, Aluminium and Glass using this method. more » ... by Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) and Atomic Force Microscopy (AFM) to study it's surface morphology and roughness. It was observed that the morphology as well as roughness shows variation with the treatment time and the type of substrate used on which films are formed.
