Princeton University Library's Map and Geospatial Information Center has recently started a project to create historical boundary data of African British Colonies. The maps for creating the boundaries are taken from the British Colonial Reports-Annuals, the British Colonial Reports, and the British Colonial Office List Map Supplement. Most of the historical boundaries will be nested within the GADM boundaries , if the GADM boundaries are within horizontal accuracy of the scanned map. This paper will introduce new methodologies of creating historical boundary data.
