Guidelines for Creating Historical Geospatial Boundary Data

Princeton University Library's Map and Geospatial Information Center has recently started a project to create historical boundary data of African British Colonies. The maps for creating the boundaries are taken from the British Colonial Reports-Annuals, the British Colonial Reports, and the British Colonial Office List Map Supplement. The maps were scanned, image enhanced, and georeferenced, and boundary data was extracted from the maps. I have developed a methodology and workflow to extract
