Maritime Security of India: Capabilities and Challenges

This article provides a brief outlook of the Indian maritime security capabilities and challenges. Maritime security is one of the significant issues in the present world order. India is a country surrounded by three side water bodies and this geographical feature increases the need of marine security. The different areas from which ships and maritime operations need protection include terrorism, piracy, robbery, illegal trafficking of goods and people, illegal fishing, and pollution.
