Communication openness can make direct impact on the social work intervention process and result. Therefore, enhancing the communication ability of university students in Social Welfare is critical for the development of social workers' professional expertise. This study aims to analyze key factors that are closely related to enhancing communication openness. more » ... l level self-esteem, self-esteem related to family, self-esteem related to school) on the level of communication openness was analyzed. This study conducted a survey study with 168 students majoring Social Welfare in 3 different universities in Gyeong Gi province. The study result showed that the most important factor for increasing the level of communication openness was the self-esteem related to family. Other important factors included resilience, social level self-esteem, and economic status(in order of importance). Based on the study result, implications were made for intervention methods for Social Welfare education, seminar, and field practicum.
