Malaria is one of the leading causes of death and disease worldwide, especially in the developing world. Malaria which is transmitted by anopheles mosquitoes is a preventable and treatable infectious disease. It kills more than one million people each year, mostly in sub-Saharan Africa and other endemic areas.
