Because of such experiences, people lose positive moods and are increasingly subjected to stress and frustration, which leads to the emergence of depressive states. The relevance and importance of this study is substantiated, focusing on questions aimed at determining the psychophysiological criteria for assessing depressive states under martial law. The results of empirical research of depression manifestations and stress propensity of respondents of different ages are described. The total sample size was 68 respondents of different age groups: 25 persons (aged 18-22), 23 persons (aged 35-50), and 20 persons (aged 60-70). The research was conducted under difficult conditions of martial law in Ukraine in April-May 2022 online through Google forms using psychodiagnostic methods: differential diagnosis of depressive states by V.A. Zhmurov, J. Jenkinson test "Tendency to stress" (modified by Friedman and Rosenman). The carried out empirical research has revealed the presence of depressive states in a significant part of respondents of different ages. These indicators testify to a decrease in the adaptation possibilities of the organism of people and, as consequence, to a decrease in the stress-resistance of the individual under martial law conditions.
