Closed Fuel Cycle System for the FBR Transition from LWR

The transition scenario fro m LW R to FBR is investigated and the Flexible Fuel Cycle Initiat ive (FFCI) is proposed. The FFCI removes most uraniu m fro m LW R spent fuel in LW R reprocessing, and residual material is treated in FBR reprocessing to recover Pu/U or stored temporarily according to the FBR deployment rate.
