Mucormycosis is an opportunistic fungal infection that rarely occurs in immunocompetent individuals. Mucormycosis refers to a serious fungal infection caused by fungi of the order Mucorales. The common clinical presentations of mucormycosis are rhinocerebral, cutaneous, pulmonary, gastrointestinal and disseminated forms.
