A strong grasp of mathematics is a key factor in ensuring success in engineering education. This paper reports on a study that attempts to investigate the contribution of teamwork and interactive multimedia courseware (CDiCL) towards learning of prealgebra among engineering students. ... DiCL group. Interviews and participant observations were also used for gathering qualitative data. Results of the quantitative data analysis showed that two groups that used the CD outperformed the two other groups who did not. The qualitative data analysis results revealed that teamwork among the CD users were more effective when team size is small (3 to 4).
