The article analyzes the key problems of the agricultural sector of the Rostov region. The interconnection between the intellectual potential and its influence on the agro-industrial complex is established. The concept of "intellectual potential of labor" within the region has been clarified. Three indices are identified as part of the intellectual potential of labor in the Rostov Region: educational, physical and scientific.The dynamics of the intellectual potential indices of the Rostov
more » ... 2015 - 2019 is presented.Recommendations and a forecast for the further development of the intellectual potential of the region, including in the agricultural sector, are given.
