The article describes load balancing issues of diesel-generator units of ship power plant in accordance with the Russian Maritime Register of Shipping and taking into account the features of the dependence of the specific fuel consumption of the load of diesel generator set, used for ship power plants, containing in its composition of diesel generator sets of various power ratings by selection of the optimal combination of operating generating units for a given load electricity station, based

The paper proposes the actual load on the bus of the main switchboard (MSB) to distribute between the parallel operating units so that the extent to which they meet the minimum load the specific fuel consumption, which is typically 75-85 % of the nominal power of DGA, or was close to such value while respecting the rules PMPS. In addition, the article describes the features of a single work of DGA of ship plants that contain generators of different power ratings, and recommendations are given to reduce the specific fuel consumption when a single work by transferring power backup DGA depending on the actual load on the bus of the main switchboard.
