Decadal climate changes are associated with the systematic variations in global patterns of atmospheric pressure, temperature, and sea surface temperature that persist from a year or two to multiple decades. These climate changes have major impacts on coastal processes, modifying wave climate, rainfall, river sediment flux, sand transport paths, coastal erosion, sea level and inundation.
