Scientific BACKGROUND: Posterior reversible encephalopathy syndrome (PRES) is a clinical picture that may develop due to eclampsia-preeclampsia, hypertension, drug intoxications and many metabolic diseases. Vasogenic edema developing on brain tissue due to etiologic factors constitutes the basis of pathophysiology.
