The best form to evidence the malnutrition in human beings is the anthropometry, therefore it allows to evaluate corporal ratios and it can show the existence of anatomical alterations, however, only allows to evidence advanced periods of training already of the malnutrition. It must also be detached that the malnutrition leads to a delay in the physical growth of human beings and also gives credit that animals. The malnutrition has been widely studied in animals of laboratories, mainly in

The accompaniment of the growth of the animals depends on the verification of its corporal ratio and weight, and considering the existing gap in literature how much to the body length of the unfed rats we carry through this study. It was objectified in this study to analyze the body length of adult rats submitted the proteic malnutrition contributing for biometric data of these animals. We use 30 Rattus norvergicus, Wistar, with 90 days of age, divided in two groups: the control and the experimental each one with 15 animals. The group control received commercial ration with proteic level from 26% and ad water libitum and the experimental group, ration prepared with proteic text of 4% from the maize starch addition and ad water libitum, during 90 days. The animals had been kept in individual metabolic river steamers with control of clearly-dark cycle of 12 hours and temperature of 25 C. The food consumption was verified daily. The animals had been anaesthesied following the protocol anaesthetic: Acepran 1,26 ml/kg; Ketamina (10%) 1,26 ml/kg; Xilazina (2%) 0,42 ml/kg and 0,22 ml/kg and measured Atropine (1%). It was become fullfilled measured of the length between nose and tail with the aid of a millimetred ribbon. We verified that the length of the animals of the group has controlled in the beginning of the experiment was of 40,03 + 1,86 cm and the experimental group of 40,67 + 1,39 cm After 90 days of proteic malnutrition, the average length of the group has controlled was of 44,15 + 1,45 cm and the experimental group of 42,33 + 1,37 cm. The animals had initiated the experiment with length the same and during elapsing of the study (90days), the group control approximately grew 4 cm Already the experimental group presented a lesser growth representatively, with about 2,33 cm, practically the half of the other group. These data demonstrate that the severe proteic malnutrition (4%) in adult rats leads to a lesser body development with lesser growth in length of the unfed animals. According to these observations we concluded that the liver of the muçuã is similar to the domestic mammals regarding the shape, number and characterization of the hepatic lobes and differs from the one of the related species such as salamander, snakes and other reptiles.
