Guava is one of the most important nutritious and commercially cultivated fruit crop belonging to the family Myrtaceae. Owing to its hard nature, it is grown successfully in tropical and subtropical regions in India over an area of 246.85 thousand hectares with production of 4053.51 thousand metric tons.
