This paper provides an overview on the history of sloth, an analysis of Galatians 5, the solution provided by the cross, and the implications of these solutions on morality for Christian leaders. Throughout the history of the church, sloth has been associated with not caring, an unwillingness to work (especially if it might lead to suffering), a Biblical emphasis on God's sovereignty over man's responsibility, an unwillingness to fulfill one's duty, and boredom.
